SAP data management software and enterprise resource planning systems made all the difference for British firm Premier Foods’ operations, the company british premier foods industrial recently told CIO Magazine.

Premier Foods CIO Mark Vickery told the magazine that the SAP rollout would enable the company to pursue other options for making back office processes more efficient, and that Premier Foods planned to continue implementing SAP data management solutions over the course of the next three years.

The company recently expanded, acquiring two companies in two years and beginning to manufacture their products. Vickery told CIO that Premier Foods had changed relatively few things about the new manufacturing processes, although it had integrated both companies’ supply chains into its own.

If the Premier Foods move shows that SAP is maintaining its strong position in the industrial sector, an article published in PC World asserts that the company may be in danger of losing its dominance in the social services, as Oracle makes a push into that area. The article said that "Oracle has its heart set on dominating the social services software market, in which its rival SAP has historically had a strong hand."ADNFCR-2919-ID-19624856-ADNFCR
