Computerworld recently reported Australia Post, the nation’s mail delivery system, announced it will implement an SAP data management solution to improve efficiency throughout its compay. The move is part of a four-tiered transformation of its organization, which CEO Ahmed Fahour began in April.

Using SAP, Australia Post hopes to collect new data that will help highlight areas of inefficiency in the company that can be altered to save money. With SAP data management solutions, companies can collect more comprehensive information to gain a better overall picture of their internal operations. Even in the earliest stages of SAP use, the organization believes the solution will help it become a more financially solvent organization.

“We’re just now in process of gathering the baseline,” Australia Post corporate audit senior manager Mark Brogan told the news provider. “We’ll use the data to measure the process and then identify the improvements. At this stage [the SAP deployment is still in it's earliest stage], and we’re just working through what the final reports are going to look like.”

To this point in 2010, SAP has helped several new companies improve the efficiency of their IT operations, which has helped it add to its industry leading market share.
